Gertrue P. Wingate

Gertrue P. Wingate, 84, Glasgow, died Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Signature Healthcare Center in Glasgow. She was a daughter of the late Della McCoy Pickett and Charlie Pickett. She was a retired nurse from State Soldier’s Home in Lafayette, Indiana and later kept people in her home for a number of years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter Stella Hicks; one brother: Archie Pickett; one granddaughter: Cynthia Spears; one grandson: Jason D. Hicks; Six great-grandchildren: Burgundy Spears, Aspen Spears, Grace Spears, Wesley Hicks, Charles Hicks, Jacob Hicks; two great-great-grandchildren: Cody Spears and Ryler Spears.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Pickett Cemetery. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Know that I’m praying today because I do know how difficult this day will be. It’s so hard to let go of our momma’s. We have to hold on to the faith that they truly are in a better place. I’m sorry we can’t be there as we have doctor appointments in Nashville. Your mom has left many people with precious memories, and I know she will be missed. Love to all of you. Carol Spinks
