Anna L. Harris

Anna L. Harris, 100, formerly of Glasgow, passed away Friday, September 23, 2016 in Hendersonville, TN. Born November 5, 1915, at Etoile, KY, she was the daughter of the late Hayden Thomas Payne and Harriett Elizabeth Owens Payne.

Mrs. Harris worked many years as a seamstress at Handmacher Fashions in Glasgow. She also did custom tailoring for Jolly’s Men’s Store and the Country Squire as well as custom hand sewing for ladies’ garments. She was a longtime member of the Barren County Homemakers Club and the Glasgow Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands: James Russell Boyter and L. L. “Slim” Harris; as well as two sons: Jim Boyter and Nicky Boyter.

Survivors include one son Phillip Boyter and wife Linda of Hendersonville, TN; a daughter-in-law: Donna Rae Boyter of Austin, KY; six grandchildren: James “Jimbo” Boyter, Jr., Ree Boyter, Lee Hayden, Russell Boyter, Tina Rae Nelson, and Laura Michelle Sutton; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harris chose cremation. A memorial graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity. Arrangements are being handled by the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
