Elsie “Jean” Humphrey Cox, 84, Glasgow, went to be with her heavenly father Friday, June 3, 2016 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. She was born October 2nd, 1931 in Metcalfe County, KY to the late Robert Jack and Zora Pauline Humphrey.

She was a graduate of Center High School and a retired employee of Handmacher and SKF. She was a charter member of Glasgow Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she worked faithfully in the nursery, was a member of the choir, and worked with the LOGOS youth group.

She is survived by four daughters: Elaine Manion of Scottsville, Lana Hatcher (Lannie), Teri Robertson, and Tresia Sexton (Garry) all of Glasgow; one brother: Billy Humphrey (Shirley) of Knob Lick; one sister: Norma Ward (Marshall) of Lexington; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson: Christopher Manion of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the J. B. Smith Cemetery at Sulphur Well, KY. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Monday at the funeral home.
