Wanna Ruth Parker

Wanna Ruth Parker, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at Diversicare of Glasgow. She was the daughter of the late Walter Hurt and Delma Hurt Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank R. Parker and a brother Paul Hurt of Oklahoma.

She is survived by her only son, Dennis Alan Parker of Glasgow. Also surviving are a niece Kelly Williams and husband Orville, and a nephew P.K. Hurt and wife Natalie of Oklahoma.

Mrs. Parker worked in the office at Handmacher for many years, and was a lady of many talents. She was an excellent seamstress and loved crafts of all kinds. She loved helping others and sharing her wonderful cooking. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years.

Funeral services will be Friday, June 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday June 2.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may be made to the Glasgow Baptist Church.

    I know I don’t have to tell you of all people, how I felt about both Wanna Ruth AND Frank. They were my second set of Parents – all my life – the entire time I was growing up, even after I had Mike & Matt. Oh the funny & WONDERFUL stories I could tell, ESPECIALLY about Frank & Daddy. Sadly, i did not find out about her death until today, just now, matter of fact – Well after the funeral was over… For that I am soooo sorry Dennis, but I will be in touch shortly big bro..,
