Wilma Bailey Gooden, 74, Hiseville, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at her residence. She was a daughter of the late John Spencer Bailey and Ollie Mae Emory Bailey. Wilma was a retired elementary teacher with Glasgow City Schools. She was a very talented craftsperson, an avid gardener where she enjoyed working with her flowers, a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Preston; two children: Tim Gooden and wife Dana of Glasgow, and Jennifer Gooden Wood and husband Paul of Hiseville; five grandchildren: Tevie Scott Gooden, Jess Spencer Gooden, Theresa Marie Gooden, Sarah Ashley Coomer, and Sally Mae Coomer; five great-grandchildren: Dane Gooden, Cooper Gooden, Jack Gooden, Asa Gooden, and Charlie; two sisters: Helen Bailey Ferguson and Linda Bailey Botts and husband Richard; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Jonathan Gooden; and by two brothers: John Spencer Bailey, Jr. and Bobby Bailey.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
