Jean Richey Hatchett, 86, passed away peacefully at home in the early morning hours of October 10th, 2015. Jean was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on May 28th, 1929 to Wallace and Lennie Richey. She had one sister, Frances Chapman, who preceded her in death.

Jean graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1951 from Georgetown College, and married Terry Bryan Hatchett in 1953. They welcomed a son, Richey Bryan Hatchett in 1956. The family moved to Chattanooga in 1968 and joined Brainerd Baptist Church where Terry and Jean remained active members until Terry’s death in 2011, after which Jean continued to attend services and Bible Study with the Betheny Class.

Jean is survived by her son, Richey Hatchett, grandchildren Courtney Erwin, Stephanie Dyer, Kevin and Jennifer Parr, Jennifer Segura, and Ellen Morris, and great-grandchildren Lilly and Leaf Dyer. Services will be held at 11am Monday October 12th, 2015 at Hatcher and Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, KY, with interment to follow at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
