Joyce Evelyn Barbour

Joyce Evelyn Barbour, 78, of Bowling Green formerly of Glasgow, died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Diversicare of Glasgow. She was a daughter of the late Audrey Earl Brown and Teenie Arnold Brown. She was retired nurse from T. J. Samson Community Hospital and was a member of the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son: Scott Barbour (Lana); two brothers: Louis Brown and Donald Brown (Judy); two sisters: Virginia Loyd (Alfred) and Delois Campbell (Marvin); one sister-in-law: Wanda Brown.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rondal Dayton Barbour, her son Gregory Alan Barbour, her sister Thelma King, two brothers Shirley and Shelby Brown.
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Joyce was an extraordinary lady. I worked with her for several years. She was so good to me, I was 17 years old and fresh out of high school when we met. She taught me so very much. That was many years ago but I never forgot her. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I enjoyed working with Joyce, she was a very dedicated nurse . She loved her family very much and spoke of them often . She will be missed greatly, think of all the happy times you all had . Love and prayers your way.
