Charles “Charlie” Wesley McCoy from A L Shirley Road, Glasgow, was called home on Tuesday, August 3, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He is survived by Louise Hunley McCoy with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage July 30th.

He is survived by three children: Chris McCoy (Heather) and their children Natalie and Lauren in Owensboro; Jill (Robert) Matthews and their children Julia Matthews Weinstein (Adam) and Jessica Matthews all in Florida, and Louis Jon McCoy (Sandra) and their sons John Michael and Brandon McCoy in Bowling Green; his sister: Sadie Blondell McCoy Gibbons of Glasgow; his sister-in-law: Wandaline Hoover McCoy; nieces and nephews including Leonard McCoy, Sammy D. McCoy, Tommy McCoy, Geraldine Denny, Carolyn Owen, Gloria Moore, Billy Buster, Betty Jane Alexander, Jackie Risen, Randy Gibbons, Mary Jane Hart, and William Witty.

He was predeceased by his parents Christopher and Emma Morgan McCoy; brothers: Fred, Sterling L., James Hughie, Howard Woodrow, Owen D., Oliver Richard, and Roger Jewell McCoy; sisters: Minnie McCoy Harlow, Allie Mae McCoy Jolly, Irma Jane McCoy Witty, Annie Merle McCoy Shaw, Mattie B. McCoy Buster, and Dorthy Pearl McCoy Owen.

Charlie was a beloved husband, father, and brother, and a World War II veteran. He farmed his entire life; was a member of Hiseville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon; and was a member of the Hiseville Lion’s Club.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with entombment in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Randolph. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    To Jill, Chris and Louis Jon: Sorry to hear about your Father he always treated me well and was a very nice man. I know it’s hard to give them up but It should give you comfort to know he is in Heaven with his family members that passed before him. I know that you will miss him my prayers are with you and your familes.
