Wade Andrew Shippee, 50, of Glasgow, KY formally from Bristol, CT passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 suddenly in his home. Wade was born April 20, 1965 in Quantio, VA and proudly served his community retiring as a corrections officer from Cheshire, CT after 22 years. Wade was active and enjoyed sports, fishing, learning to play his electric guitar, golfing and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Wade was the a son of Patsy Cromwell Shippee and the late William Henry Shippee, II.

Besides his mother he is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years Annette Shippee; two daughters: Cassi Howe “Robert Howe, Jr.” and Billie Jo Willequer “Donald Willequer”; eight grandchildren: Andrew, Victoria, Wade, Lauren, Josh, Robbie, Nora, Amber and Twin Boys on the way; two sisters: Debby Shippee and Sherry Shippee “Elli Brenner”; one brother: William Henry Shippee, III; He also leaves behind his best friend Jumpper “his dog”.

Funeral will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.

    I did not know Mr. Shippee long, but wanted to reach out to his family to let them know they have my deepest condolences. I groom Jumper & Peanut and I could tell her loved them both very much. In my mind, being an animal lover shows great character and compassion. Your whole family will be in my thoughts.

    To the family of Officer Shippee, Wade my condolence on behalf of the staff and friends at the Uconn Medsurge 5 unit were officer shippee worked before he retired from the department of corrections.
