Lela Mae Friend Vance, 99, of Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 with family around her. She was a daughter of the late Clarence and Viola Gardner Friend of Lexington, Kentucky.  She was a very special lady who was loved by all who knew her.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Lincoln Vance.  They were married on October 5, 1948.  She was also preceded in death by one son, Lawrence Alan Vance, her brother and sister-in-law, Marion and Aline Friend,

and one sister and brother-in-law, Erseldine and Doug Ross.

She is survived by one sister: Margie Friend; one brother-in-law: Kenneth (Ann) Vance; eight nieces and nephews: Patty (Buck) Brown, Bobby (Barbara) Friend, Sharon (Kurt) Frey, Jerry (Carlotta) Friend, Mack (Vickie) Ross, Julie Scoskie, Lisa (John) Collopy, Alan (Connie) Vance; and several great nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.  Lela was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Glasgow, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

    Patty Lela was the light of my night when I was at work on 11 to 7 we would have milk and it cookie. I allrrady miss her dearly. She was a very caring person. Lpve
