Ella Lewis Johnson, 97, Glasgow, died Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Martha Ellen Cox Culver. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons: Danny L. Johnson and Rickey Johnson and his wife Teresa all of Glasgow; four grandchildren: Alex Johnson, Danny L. Johnson, Jr. and Quentin Johnson all of Glasgow and Holly Johnson Childress and her husband Chad of Georgia; five great-grandchildren: Kelsey Johnson, Houston Childress, Ashtyn Johnson, Jadyn Johnson, and Braelyn Johnson; one sister-in-law: Louise Culver of Glasgow; two brothers-in-law: Leslie Dean and Harry Johnson and his wife Eva all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Johnson; five sisters: Clara Franklin, Hattie Lou Groce, Madeline Calvert, Stella Peden, and Christine Dean; three brothers: Bronner Culver, Lawrence Culver, Hughie Culver, and Stanley Culver.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    Mrs. Johnson was one of the sweeties ladies we knew. She loved much. And she lived a good life. Filled with many friends and family that loved her. She saw a lot in her 97 years of life. She saw a lot of changes,inventions of every kind. And saw America at her best and as today her worst. To the family our’ hearts go out to you all, she was a very specal person , but then you all know this. We stand beside you all at this time of sorry. God Bless you all.
