Seva Lee Burford

Seva Lee Burford, 88, Glasgow, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at NHC of Glasgow. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late O. B. Burford and Pearlie Quinn Burford of Glasgow. She was also preceded in death by a brother Hardin T. Burford of Ft. Wayne, IN, and her sister, Dr. Anna Marie Burford of Murfreesboro, TN, who also was Seva’s caregiver during the time she lived in Murfreesboro.
Seva was a retired Beautician who owned and operated the Vogue Beauty Shop on North Green Street for over 30 years. Throughout her career, she was recognized with numerous awards for her creative hairstyles. Some of her other interests included her needlework, ceramics, and art which she loved to share. Her greatest joys came from her family, friends, and her church. She was a member of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ.
She is survived by her brother: Alwin B. Burford and wife Joyce of Bowling Green; two nephews: Danny Lee Burford and wife Sherrie of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Kevin B. Burford and wife Kim of Lexington, KY; two nieces: Kim Clayton and husband Brent of Bowling Green, and Krista Staples and husband Bryan of White House, TN; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
