Annie Lee “Sis James” Simmons

January 1, 1924          ~          June 7, 2013

Annie Lee “Sis James” Simmons, 89, of Glasgow, went home to be with her Savior, June 7, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Vines James and Elenora Thomas Keeton James.

She is survived by one son: Charles Edwards Simmons and his wife Dee of Lakeland Florida; two daughters: Agnes Louise “Duck” Simmons of Glasgow and Geneva Annie “Tuttie” Simmons of Glasgow; five grandchildren: Misty Solomon and her husband Scott, Devona Smith and her husband David, Jason Simmons, Crystal Simmons and Scott Bryant; her great-grandchildren: Myles, Mykaye, Candace, Trygien and Tyson Simmons and two special great-grandchildren: Tristan Solomon and Dawson Smith. Her special pets Baby and Pop.

She was preceded in death by six brothers: Lawrence Ray James, Clarence “Tinker” James, Joe Lewis James, James Robert James, Henry Clay “H” James and Ernest Action “Sam” James.

Funeral will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

    Aunt Sis I guess Our next cup of coffee We have will be with the Lord. Peace is Something I know only comes from knowing Jesus One of the Last times We visited Nancy and I Prayed with You . I know there is a Great reunion going on in Heaven Your Loved Ones that have gone on before You . I thinks about what the Bible says The Lion will lay down with the Lamb No more pain no more strife . John 14 let not Your Heart be troubled Ye believe in God Believe also in Me. John 14 verse 2 in My father’s house are many mansions : if it were not so , I would have told You. I go prepare a place for You. john 14 verse 3 And if I go prepare a place for You,I will come again , and receive You unto Myself; That where I am , There Ye may be also. Praise God Aunt Sis when You left here with that band of Angels oh what a trip. A song comes to My Mind I can only Imagine is the title. Aunt Sis I will never forget You The time We walked the hollow when I was a kid . The funny stories You told . Corn bread and beans. To the Family I Pray and ask God through this time in Your life Man will let us down God Never will . Heavenly Father Be with My Family as they say good Bye to Sis I Pray that each one of them has accepted You as there Lord and Savior Father God let them feel only the Peace that You can give I ask this all in the Name above All Names The Name of Jesus Amen.

    I’ve only known you for a short while, but in that short span of time you’ve shown me care and gratitude. Doing for others and doing without for yourself was one trait I picked up on. You cared about everyone whether you liked them or not. You spoke your mind and didn’t care what other people thought about it. My thoughts and prayers are not just with you now, they have always been with you. Praying everyday that this world could see through your eyes.     Aunt Sis, so sorry that we lost contact, was glad to hear from all of you about 7 years ago. I know that after my dad dies I never got to know you all, the only time I got to see you all Joyce and Andy would bring me. Then Michael and I came down to the graveyard a few years ago.we did get to see Duck. Tell my dad hello and I love him, give hugs to all of my uncles. love your niece Loretta.
