Leah “Margaret” Cummings Byrd age 80 of Glasgow. (born March 28th 1932), died December 16, 2012 at Greenview Hospital after a short illness. She was retired from the Barren County School system and an active member of The Big Meadow Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Mattie Cummings, her husband for 59 years John “Luther” Byrd and her eldest son Richard Byrd.

Survivors include her son Philip Byrd and wife Martha, a granddaughter Alisha Wyatt and husband Jason, a great-grandson Jared, all of Glasgow. Two sisters Lucille Cole and husband David of Bowling Green, Mary Rhule and husband Charles of Byrdstown, Tennessee. Also surviving are four brothers Edward Cummings and wife Geneva, Ernest Cummings and wife Creola all of Byrdstown Tennessee. Earl Cummings and wife Virgie

of Cookeville Tennessee and Grady Cummings and wife Clarine of Albany Kentucky. One brother-in-law Sam Byrd and wife Helen of Knob Lick, one sister-in-law Elizabeth Poynter of Glasgow. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

    I am so sorry that you’ve lost you sweet sweet mom and my dear sister. Know we are praying for you and now you must trust God to give grace and hold you in His hand.
