  2. Sylvia Simpson Brown says:

To Paul Simpson McKinney, Earleen Scott, Gene Simpson and all the family who loved Norma so much, I send my deepest love and condolence your way.

She is known as a truly great lady and a kind, generous person.

I wish I could have spent more time with her over the years.

We had great times when my brothers and I visited Kentucky several years ago.

How happy I am that I will see her again along with many, many of my dear Kentucky ancestors and extended family, most of whom I never had a chance to meet.

From your loving Texas cousin, Sylvia

  3. Mile Padgett says:

  4. Steve Robertson says:

Paul—Norma McKinney was my second grade teacher at Beech Grove about 1956. Over the years from time to time we would “run into” each other. She was always an inspiration to me and we would have a good conversation together. I regret over the last few years we didn’t run into each other and have a few more visits. But she has a special place in my heart and was an encouraging influence in my life. I know she is with the Lord now. Thanks for a wonderful lady.

  5. Jesse & Bernice Brown says:

    Paul,
So sorry to hear of your mothers death. We were in Lexington visiting our daughter and family and could not come to the viewing. Your mother was one of the favorite teachers of both of our children and we appreciated her for that. She was just a lovely person.

    God bless,

  6. Nanelyn Depp Tarrants says:

Mrs. McKinnney was my second grade teacher at Happy Valley Elementary School back in the late 1970’s. Mrs. McKinney was my favorite teacher of all of my years of school. She was so kind, loving and passionate about her profession and her love for teaching. My childhood was very dificult at times, and seeing Mrs. McKinney’s smiling face each day that school year was very comforting to me, as well as many other children that loved her dearly. I had the opportunity to tell her this several years ago, and I am so thankful that I had that time to share with her. She will always have a special place in my heart. My mind often goes back to her and our wonderful days in her classroom. My prayers for your entire family at this difficult time.

    My blessings always,
    Nanellyn Depp Tarrants
