So sorry to hear the news about Martha. She was a very special teacher, caregiver to her mom and aunt, and a friend to me as I took care of my mother. Seems like only yesterday that we were all sitting around the tables at the nursing home feeding our loved ones and trying to see how we could make their lives better. Now, she has gone to a better place and will be with her mother, aunt and other family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you celebrate her life. God bless you all!

    Jerry and Trevor,

I am truly sadden by the loss of Martha. I have always admired her. She was an excellent teacher who always put her students first. She made the most of every minute. She was a very devoted mother and daughter who put her family first. In the years that I have known her, I never heard her complain about anything. During the years, Martha was there in my most difficult time (my dad’s illness and death, Noah’s baseball accident, and recently when Sanford had hip replacement). Her calls and acts of love and friendship have meant so much to me. I consider myself extremely lucky to have taught with Martha and to have learned so many lessons from her. Please know my thoughts and prayers will be with you both. If there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. I would be honored to be there for you as your wife/mother was always there for me.

    Trevor,

You are a great young man that any mother would be proud of. She was not someone who bragged about anything, but when she talked about you there was never any doubt of her love and commitment to you. Always know how proud your mother was of you. May God bless you during this time of great loss.

  22. Kelly Hodge Shepperd says:

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Mrs. Polson. She was an exceptional person. As a child at Bonnieville Elementary, I remember dreading going “down the steps” to Ms. Duff’s class. As it turned out, fifth grade with Ms. Duff was an excellent year and there was nothing to dread. She was truly a great teacher. I only wish that I would have taken the time to let her know what she meant to me when she was still here with us. She had a great impact on me. My condolences to the family.

  23. Doug & Tabatha Robertson says:

So sorry to hear the news about the loss of Mrs. Polson. She will be missed by lots of people. For so long I rememberher being a teacher ay Caverna, where I went to school for 7 years. I remember lots of time in 6th grade, she was my teacher. Mrs. Polson & I always had a slight fight almost every day about how to spell a word. She always said “I am not telling you how to spell that word.”. In return a hardheaded sixth grader that i was replied “if i can’t spell it, I can’t look it up.”. Mrs. Polson replied, “sound it out, & you will find it”. Then i would get a dictionary, & surely there it was. She always knew that I had it in me somewhere. She was a great teacher, & this is a fond memory of her that i will cherish. Later on, I married & found out that my husband Dougs great grandmother was Jerrys dad’s sister. It’s a small world!

  24. Brad Duff says:

Martha Rose Polson was & still is my aunt, & always will be. Just up late at night & cant sleep after the day of her funeral, a very sad day in my life, a very sad day. I just got an email from my brother Ryan, that he posted a message on facebook of our aunt. The post cant say enough about this woman. I have no facebook page & just decided to google my aunt. A surprise to see her name show up, not at all. A surprise to see that all 23 people that have left a short message or condolence & nothing being negative, not at all. My aunt , my uncle’s wife, my cousin’s mother, was like a mother to me. This is a person I truly miss already & right @ this moment. Words cant say enough about this wonderful lady, always a smile on her face. She just wanted what was best for you, just like she did her family. I trully will miss her with the bottom of my heart. She will never be replaced, & I think that might be what is so hard for me, knowing how much her husband Jerry loves her, along with an awesome cousin Trevor, who loves her dearly. Words cant explain how much pain, my family feels today, but we all know Martha, is in a better place now.
