Edward Donald Logsdon
December 28, 1923 ~ April 7, 2012
Edward Donald Logsdon, 88, Glasgow, died Saturday, April 07, 2012, at his residence. A native of Vine Grove, KY, he was a son of the late Horace and Bertha Williams Logsdon. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the United States Marines, and then became an employee of the United States Civil Service, stationed at Ft. Knox. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Wood Logsdon; one daughter, Vickie Cornelius and her husband, Jimmy, of Smiths Grove; one granddaughter, Laura Reynolds and husband, Chris, of Bowling Green; two great-grandsons, Logan and Carson Reynolds; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charlie Logsdon; one granddaughter, Megan Cornelius; one brother Clifford Logsdon; two sisters, Celestine Viers and Lucille Baysinger.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Donald was a great uncle and a very good person. He will be missed by all the family. Mom and Dad will be very glad to see him cause they thought the world of him..

Donald Logsdon was an outstanding Christian man whom the entire Murphy family looked up to and cherished knowing him and having his long standing friendship. Please know our love, prayers and greatest sympathy is with your entire family. He will be greatly missed by many.
My Uncle Donald and Aunt Pearl were among the greatest of blessings in my life. I have the fondest memories of him. He was a truly wonderful man. My sincerest sympathy to all who knew and loved him.

Donald came into my life when he married my sister, Pearl. I was about four years old. Donald instantly became my idol and I dogged his steps anytime he was around. As I grew up, he and my sister included me in their vacations, outings with friedns and movies. They took me to church on Sunday night and Wednesday night prayer meeting. Donald represented to me what I imagine God wants us to be here on earth. He was alwaysl willing to help anyone in anyway he could. Losing Charlie was hard on both of them, but I believe Donald took it the hardest. When my sister passed away and he and Opal found each other he got the extended family he always wanted. He delighted in talking about his family, he adored his granddaughters and was filled with pride over Laura’s success. We will all miss him, he enriched every life he touched. My husband, Dave, had more respect and affection for Donald than anyone else he’s ever met. Our sincere sympathy for Opal and her family.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one. I never got to know Donald very well, but I have certainly heard wonderful things about him. It’s so hard to give up our loved ones. Let the beautiful memories linger in your heart and may God’s comfort and love surround you all at this time. I’m not going to be able to come to the visitation, but you will be in my thoughts and prayers. My deepest sympathy.
Donald was one of those people that the Lord puts on earth for a role model. We lived beside Donald and Pearl on the farm and had almost a daily interaction with them for many years. In all those years, Donald always portrayed a positive influence . He was truly a unique man. Opal was such a blessing to him and so devoted . Opal you and your family are in our prayers.
Donald truly was a Godly man. Barry and I met Donald and Pearl when we were newly married, at Mill Creek Church in Radcliff. They took us in and, despite the age dirrerence, became our close friends. Over the years, even though miles seperated us, we still remained in touch periodically. Some of our fondest memories of those years include Donald and Pearl. It was a joy to see him find Opal after Pearl passed away. The family will be in our prayers.
