Gary Joe Bennett

December 23, 1939     ~     January 29, 2012

Gary Joe Bennett, 72, Manchester, TN, died Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Harton Regional Hospital in Tullahoma, TN. A native of Barren County, he was the son of the late Marvin Jewell Bennett and Anna Laura Clayton Bennett. He was a retired tool and die maker for automobile manufacturers and was an Army Veteran serving in Panama.

Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Slaughter of Vine Grove, and Bonnie Trabue and her husband, Bruce, of Glasgow; two aunts, Frances Smith of California, and Mary Helen Pedigo of Glasgow; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Frank Slaughter.

Private services will be held for the family with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Arrangements handled by Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be sent to the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center in honor of Mr. Bennett’s love of history and country music.
