Vera J. Mohrey

Vera J. Mohrey, 94, Glasgow, died Sunday, November 13, 2011, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Jim Thorpe, PA, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. Meckes, Sr. and Myrtle P. Smith Meckes. She was a retired office manager at Allentown State Hospital in Pennsylvania. After retirement, she lived at The Villages in Florida before moving to Glasgow.
Survivors include one son, George Katchak (Gail) of Glasgow; three grandchildren, Claire Klein (Dan), Patrick Katchak (Angie), and Kristen Wells (Jeff); one sister, Alverda Kishbaugh (Robert); one sister-in-law, Mabel Meckes; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, George Katchak and Carl R. Mohrey; and by one brother, Charles Meckes.
The family chose cremation. A private service will be held later in Pennsylvania. Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home assisted with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Glasgow Education Foundation.
