Arvil Bruce Spears, 85, of Glasgow, Ky. passed away peacefully on November 10, 2011. Surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 29, 1926 at Peytonsburg, Kentucky in Cumberland County, to the late Johnny H. and Vera Hill Spears. Bruce married Eudelle Humphrey in 1949. She precedes him in death.

Survivors include brothers Milton “Bud” (Rose) Spears of Greenwood, IN. Charles E. Spears of Camby, IN. and Larry Fay (Mary) Spears of Indianapolis, seven nieces, six nephews, several great nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his sister Sue Butrum and a brother Johnny G. Spears.

He served in WW II in the Philippines in 1943 – 1944. He retired from formerly Indianapolis Union Railways. Bruce was a member of the East Main Church in Glasgow, Ky.

Services will be Monday November 14, 2011 at noon at Fellowship Baptist Church in Allons, TN., With Minister Doug Lancaster officiating. Visitation from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home in Glasgow, KY. Memorial contribution can be made to East Main Church of Christ in Glasgow, Ky. Or a contribution of donor’s choice.
