Vola H. McCoy

Vola Banks McCoy, 95, Glasgow, died Monday, September 12, 2011, at NHC of Glasgow. A native of Metcalfe County, she was daughter of the late Sam and Lizzie Rowe Hayes, and she was a homemaker.

Survivors include three children, Sammie D. McCoy (Edith), Frances Geraldine Denny (Earnest), and Tommy Richard McCoy (Elizabeth); four grandchildren, Myrita Lynn Phillips (Donald), Lisa Ann Ramey, Shannon Kaye Bell (Wendell), and Alan D. McCoy (Dena); nine great-grandchildren, Afton Ramey, Cody Ramey, Jeremy Phillips, Dustin Phillips, Savannah Bell, Skylar McCoy, Ryder McCoy, Lucas McCoy, and Kara McCoy;

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Owen D. McCoy; one daughter, Eugenia Marie McCoy; two grandchildren, Sonya Gail McCoy and Ricky Wayne McCoy; one sister, Dovie McCoy.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Childrens’ Research Hospital.
