James Robert “Jim” Brown, 88, Bon Ayr, died Friday, July 09, 2010, at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green. A native of Bath County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Ethel McFarland Brown and was a retired bus driver for Barren County Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include five children, Betty Ewing (Roy) of Mansfield, OH, Ruby Neighbors (David) of Bowling Green, James Robert “Bobby” Brown, Jr. and Garnett Brown both of Glasgow, and Della Gaskin (Jeff) of Bowling Green; the children’s mother, Delilah Lee Brown; nine grandchildren, Jody Ewing of Mansfield, Michael Gaskin (Maria) of Glasgow, Leigh Barker (Terry) of Russellville, Pamela Martin, David Gaskin, Nickie Brown and Robert Brown all of Bowling Green, Chad Lyons (Tiffany) and Shea Jones (Tim) of Glasgow; three sisters, Ruthlene Zinn of Mansfield, Ina Berry of Arizona and Della Sheppard of Virginia; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn Brown, Everett Brown and Junior Brown; one sister, Ruby Prater.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
