Joel Wayne “Pud” Read, II, 31, of Glasgow died Saturday, October 10, 2009. He is the son of Rita Wheat Read and the late Joel Wayne Read. He attended the Coral Hill Church of God.
Besides his mother his is survived by one son: Kirby Tate Read; two brothers: Josh Read and his wife Audra and Jacob Read and his wife Nikita; one sister: Jamie Fancher and her husband Larry; Maternal Grandfather: Bubby Wheat; Maternal Grandmother: Dixie Younkin and her husband Jack; Special Aunt: Amanda Garmon and her husband Keith; Several Aunts, Uncles and a host of other family and friends.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandfather: Kempton Read; Paternal Grandmother: Neil Harrison Read and his Paternal Step-Grandmother: Faye Smith Read
Funeral will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Bro. Leon Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

I have to say that I am so glad that I got to know Joel “Pud” Read. He would make you laugh and his presence lit up a room. I know he will be missed. I will be remembering you and your family during this hard time.

Rita, I am so sorry to hear about Joel and this terrible tragedy. I pray that you will be comforted by God’s presence in this long night season. HE is faithful, indeed. Joel was always a special guy to us and so many more. We are praying for your entire family. God bless you all.

Joel was the sweetist young man when our young men were boys and they used to spend much time together. I am sure he was just a wonderful as an adult. Justin, Jarrod and I are very sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
