Harold Pritchard, 88, Hiseville, died Wednesday, September 09, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The son of the late Mary Edna “Mamie” Hatcher and John Bernard Pritchard, he was a retired postmaster of Hiseville Post Office with 32+ years service and a farmer. He was a member and Deacon of Hiseville Baptist Church, where he was also a Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of Hiseville Lions Club and a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Zora Ross Pritchard; one sister, Virginia Pritchard Shepherd of Whitley City, KY; two nieces, Linda Holmes Anderson of Winfield, TN and Nancy Holmes Gilreath of Pine Knot, KY; one nephew, John B. Holmes of Lexington; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

    Zora, it was a pleasure to take care of Mr. Pritchard. When he was having a difficult night a piece of chocolate would help. I would ask him to sing “On The Wings Of A Snowwhite Dove. He loved Sundays so he and Doris could sing together. He is greatly missed. Thank You for allowing us to take care of him.You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

    mrs pritchard , i am sorry to hear about mr. pritchard. he was such a nice person to talk to and to be around. i always would call him MY FRIEND and he called me VIRGINIA. it has been such an hornor to know him. i always would take a few min on sundays to hear doris and him sing his sunday music and to hear a verse out of the bible. he was such a great guy. my thoughts and prayers are with u .he will be really missed.

    Zora,I am so deeply sorry for your loss at this time.Harold was a very good man and he will be greatly missed by many people.I have so many good and happy memories from my childhood of you both.I really did enjoy my visits with him at the nursing home and loved to hear him remind me of the things from my childhood past.
