Haskell Smith

Haskell E. Smith, 81, Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Frank and Laura Thomerson Smith. He was a retired employee of Allison Gas Turbine plant in Indianapolis and an avid dancer and trader.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Mae Smith; six children, Linda, Charlotte, Rosa Lynn, Chris, John and Steve; two step-sons, Robert Marston and David Marston; one brother, Hobert; one sister, Janie; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and the many caregivers to whom the family offers a special thank-you.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Melody; one brother, Bill; and three sisters, Maggie, Pauline and Laura Mae.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Greenwood, Indiana with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
