Stanley Printus Bow, 90, Cave City, died Monday, March 9, 2009, at his residence.  A native of Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Glenzia Riddle and Clarence H. Bow.  He was a veteran of WWII with the 5th Armored Division, a retired carpenter and farmer and a member and trustee of the Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Hunter Bow; one daughter, Bonnie Matthews and her husband, Steve, of Cave City; two grandsons, Jay Hughes and Major Jeffrey S. Hughes and his wife, Debra, all of Glasgow; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Hughes, Andrew Hughes, and Emma Hughes all of Glasgow, SSgt. Richard J. Hughes (Heather) of El Paso, Texas, Ryan Hughes of Memphis, TN, and Briar Hughes of Hardin County, KY; one brother, James E. Bow (Shirley) of Glasgow; two sisters, Molly Bow Walker of Crawfordsville, IN, and Gertha Bow Ogborn of Sebring, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Joel Lynn Hughes, and four brothers, Clarence Keene Bow, Howard Bow, Alvin Bow and Charles Bow.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.  Military honors will be provided by 1st Bn 623rd FA.  Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
