Carlos Mitchell Poynter, 75, Glasgow, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, at his residence. The Barren County native was a member of the Point of Grace Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served with the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Hogue Poynter; one brother, Ralph Poynter (Kaye), one uncle, Laymon Poynter; a niece, Krista Poynter; a nephew, Gary Poynter; nieces-in-law, Peggy Fuller (Jim), Betty Buss (Jim), Willowdean Fonner (Ray), Faye Kingery; Ann Raj (Hans), and Wand Peavley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Irene and Herbert Poynter; two brothers, Billy and Bobby Poynter; one sister, Carolyn Poynter.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
