Roger G. Jackman, 87, Glasgow, died Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late Guy and Bettie Price Jackman.  A life-long farmer, Mr. Jackman was a member of the Barren County Cattlemen’s Assn., Barren County Farm Bureau and the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church.  He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific.

Survivors include his wife, Sadie Jewell; one daughter, Beth Jackman Holland and her husband, Dr. Richard Holland, of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Adrienne Holland and Jack Holland of Greensboro; four nephews, Dr. Ben Boone and Dr. David Boone of Dallas, TX, Mark Boone and John Boone of Atlanta, GA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Jackman of Glasgow, and one sister, Lucille Boone of Louisville.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with Rev. C. G. Morrison officiating.  Burial with military honors provided by the Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 Saturday at the funeral home.  Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
