James Edward “Wag” Wagner, 85, Glasgow, died Monday, July 28, 2008, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital.  A native of Muhlenberg County, he was a son of the late Emma Florence Pearson and George Washington Wagner.  He was a retired car salesman at McCoy Motors in Glasgow, an avid golfer, a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, and a veteran of WWII, having served with the United States Marines.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Wagner Alexander and husband, David, of Van Buren, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Geoffrey Alexander of Fayetteville, AR, and Rachel Alexander of Ft. Smith, AR; one great-grandchild, Jacob Mohr; one brother, Harold Wagner of Louisville; a special nephew and friend, Mike McCoy of Glasgow; several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Baldock Wagner, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.  Burial with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
