William Forster “Bill” Berry, 89, Glasgow, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at his residence. A son of the late Laura Forster and William T. Berry, he was retired from the 623rd Unit of the Kentucky National Guard and a retired helicopter mechanic with the Federal Civil Service.  He was a veteran of WWII.  He was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church, where he formerly was Secretary for the Intermediate Sunday School Department.  He was a Kentucky Colonel and a ham radio operator whose call sign was K4KMJ.

Survivors include one brother, Ephraim Berry and his wife, Elsie, of Glasgow; five nieces and nephews, James Steenbergen and wife, Carolyn, of Richmond, TX, Joyce Craven and husband, Ted, of Platte City, KS, Alan Steenbergen of Fredericksburg, TX, John Berry and wife, Connie and Mark Berry all of Glasgow; several great nieces and nephews, including Joshua Berry and wife, Monica, of Glasgow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Steenbergen; one niece, Linda Buis; one nephew, Eugene Steenbergen.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
