Virgil L. Pennington, 65, Glasgow, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital. A native of Knott County, he was a son of the late Clyde and Trella Pennington, a truck driver and a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; 5 daughters, Della Vaughn and husband, Luther, Karen Whitlow, Jennifer Hobart and husband, Jerry, Gina Oaks and Melissa Pennington, all of Glasgow; one son, Virgil Pennington, Jr. of Ohio; four grandchildren, Caleb Vaughn, Blake Hobart, Chandler Smith and Trinity Smith; two brothers, Scotty and Paul, both of Ohio; six sisters, Rissie Mae, Carolyn, Judy, Patty and Shirley all of Ohio and Georgie of California; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Debbie.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 13, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
