Mary Elizabeth Steenbergen, 89, formerly of Glasgow, died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, in Fredericksburg, Texas.  A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late Laura Susan Forster and William Thomas Berry.  She was a retired warehouse manager for Texas Instruments and a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericksburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Buls and her husband, Fred, of Fredericksburg, and Joyce Craven and her husband, Ted, of Platte City, MO; two sons, Alan Steenbergen and his wife, Sharon of Fredericksburg and James Steenbergen and his wife, Carolyn, of Richmond, TX; two brothers, Ephraim Alexius Berry and his wife, Elise, and William Forster Berry all of Glasgow; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Orville Steenbergen, and one son, William Eugene Steenbergen.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2006, at the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg.  Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens in Glasgow.  Local arrangements are under the direction of the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
