Frances Irene Edwards Morrison, 82, Hiseville, died Tuesday, August 08, 2006, at the NHC Health Care Center. A native of Barren County, she was a daughter of the late James “Jimmie” Christopher Edwards and Sarah Nunn Edwards Pruitt. She was a retired cook at Hiseville School, a member of the Rock Spring Baptist Church and the Hiseville Order of the Eastern Star # 581.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil “Mutt” Morrison; two daughters, Betty Simmons and husband, Bobby, of Austin, Joyce Steen and husband, Doug, of Glasgow; one son, James W. “Bubba” Morrison and wife, Linda, of Hiseville; two sisters, Madeline DeSalvo of New Jersey and Judy Riordan of Glasgow; five brothers, Alex Edwards, Richard Edwards and Jim Edwards all of Hiseville, Kenny Edwards of Indiana and Billy Edwards of Mt. Washington; her step-mother, Janie Edwards of Hiseville; 7 grandchildren, Paula Brooks (Terry), Steve Simmons (Sherri), Janet Bellamy (Mark), Jamie Morrison (LaDonna), Joyce Bray (Philip), Todd Morrison (Danyel), and Jennifer Pursley (Darold); 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kimberly Simmons; two sisters, Agnes March and Jane Ellen Edwards; five brothers, James Edwards, Raymond Edwards, Roger Edwards, Larry Wayne Edwards and Howard Tom Edwards.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 10, 2006, at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Hiseville Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
