William F. Denton, 88, of Glasgow died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at his residence.  He was the son of the late L. R. Denton and Ora Gray Denton.  He was retired from Coca Cola in Glasgow, a Navy veteran of WWII where he served aboard the USS Bristol, and a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years: Verna Denton; one brother: Clyde Denton of Bowling Green; six nephews: Gregory Moore, Glen Mooore, James H. Denton L. R. Denton, Jr., Maurice Denton and David Denton; four nieces: Serena Haynes, Ginger Nichols, Gina Moore and Rebecca Gabehart.  He was preceded in death by three brothers: Murrell Denton, Curtis Denton and A. R. Denton; one sister: Clara Hardison.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Burial, with military honors provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV, will be in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 3:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.
