Jewell “Dee” Brownfield, 79, Glasgow , died Wednesday, January 21, 2004 , at the NHC Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. A son of the late Robert (Bob) and Minnie Sowers Brownfield, he was a member of the Woodmen of the World Lodge, Tracy United Methodist Church and a retired employee of Glasgow Electric Motor Repair.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Eaton Brownfield; one daughter, Marla Houchens; one grandson, Chad Houchens and his wife, Leighanne; one granddaughter, Micah Houchens; one brother, Wendell Brownfield; two sisters, Anna Gibbs and Mary McGuire all of Glasgow; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Brownfield and Eugene Brownfield.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2004 , the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery . Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
