Donald Lee Bertram, 72, Glasgow , died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 , at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital . A native of Barren County , he was the son of the late Hershel and Nell Rush Bertram. A United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was former owner of Bertram-Jolly Cleaners, owner of Bertram Signs, a member and former deacon of the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ, a member of the Haywood Volunteer Fire Department and a model train enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Sue; one son, Ben Bertram and his wife, Amy of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Ashley, Gage and Katie Bertram; one sister, Virginia Settle of Louisville ; two nephews, John Bertram Settle of Pittsburgh and Maj. Blake Settle (Adria) of Louisville, presently deployed to Afghanistan; one niece, Susan Lewis of Louisville; his mother-in-law, Velma Anderson of Glasgow; several great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Settle.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Columbia Avenue Church of Christ with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery . Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 12 noon Saturday at the church.
