Velma Lee Maupin, 81, Glasgow, died Wednesday at the Medco Center in Bowling Green. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Bedford Gillenwater and Mamie Allen Gillenwater McMillian, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She and her late husband, William Maupin, were owners and operators of the Royal Café in Glasgow.

Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. Dennis Gillenwater and Earlie Gillenwater and by one sister, LaVerne Helm.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with burial in the Barlow Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 781, Glasgow, KY 42142-0781.
