Harold Byron Jackson, 82, Glasgow, died Monday at the Barren County Health Care Center. A native of Allen County, he was a son of the late Ralston and Lena W. Jackson. He was a graduate of Ft. Knox High School and a veteran of WW II, serving with the U.S. Army. Prior to entering the service, he served with the Kentucky Highway Patrol and afterwards started to work with Western Kentucky Gas. He served as district superintendent, manager of the Glasgow district and later as manager of the Owensboro District.

He was very active in community affairs. He was a past president of the Horse Cave Lions Club, a past director of the Glasgow Rotary Club and member of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Gipson Jackson; one son, Charles Jackson and his wife, Eloise of Glasgow; one granddaughter, Charlann Jackson of Lexington; two brothers, Junior Jackson and William Jackson both of Scottsville.

Funeral will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 P. M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Military honors will be provided by the Glasgow DAV Chapter #20.
