Jewell Mary Pitcock, 85, Glasgow, died Sunday at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital after a brief illness. The Monroe County native was a former employee of Handmacher Fashions and J.J. Newberry in Glasgow. She later retired from the T.J. Samson Community Hospital after having worked there from 1966 until 1980. She was a 12 year member of the Foster Grandparents Program in Bowling and had been a recipient of the Foster Grandparent of the Year Award. She was the daughter of the late Miles Allen Cary and Nannie Geralds Cary and a member of the Greenwood Park Church of Christ in Bowling Green.

Survivors include two daughters, Ella Dean Taylor of Bowling Green and Norma Joyce Mars of Indianapolis; one brother, Roy Clifton Cary of Glasgow; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 Wednesday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 12 noon Wednesday at the Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
