Sonya was a few years older than me but we were in the same school for a while...I remember thinking I was sooo cool because I was a kindergartener and she was in like 6th grade she would always fuss over me and put lip gloss on me...I thought I was something cause the older girls were paying attention to me!!!! My heart goes out to all of her family including my aunt Marie....

Sonya was a great person who was full of life and always kept her head up when she really was feeling down. I used to help her by takin her 2 and from the hospital when she was sick and visiting her when she was there. I will always regret not getting there in time this time 2 say goodbye. She knew I loved and cared about her. I used 2 worry so much about her. I regret that I can't make it down but I will pray 2 god about her and also if u could just give her one kiss for me. My wife and I met Sanya when she used to work at the Laundry and Tan Connection. When we first met her, she had recently gotten over most of her battle with breast cancer. Not too long after we met and had become friends, she found out cancer had returned, this time to her liver. The doctors, as they always seem to do, gave her only months to live. I told her only God knows...she outlived their prognosis by several years or more. Sanya was very generous and loving, and was fun to hang out with. She was an awesome cook, and was always offering food whenever we'd visit. She loved music, and I thought she had a real good singing voice, when sometimes she'd sing along with some of her favorite songs. There was a time not too long ago when God touched her heart, and I encouraged it. If she drifted away later, He was never really gone from her because once you connect with Him, He won't let you go. So that is where she is today, with Him, and out of any pain and suffering and in eternal bliss and happiness! Rest In Peace, our friend! Paul and Becky Hilgenberg

She was a good friend. I used to help her when she was broke. I would give her money to get her meds . I will miss her . I seen her a week or so ago she looked bad , but she always had a smile on her face.

Around this time, two years ago, I spoke to Sanya and we were trying to find time to meet and catch up on all the years gone past. We never did.
